On 11 June 2018, the student Diego Mise presented his master thesis in Florianópolis, SC. The title of the research is Analysis of the Digital Hydraulic System for Aircraft with Focus on Energy Efficiency. The main objective of the research was modelling and experimental analysis of the digital hydraulic system. The digital hydraulic system concept used was proposed by the researcher Henri. C. Belan and is based on the substitution of the servovalve by a set of on/off valves with a multi-chamber cylinder and three pressure lines. A model of the digital system was developed and implemented in Hopsan, an validated with experimental results from the Digital Hydraulic Actuator test bench, available at LASHIP. It was also presented two equivalent models developed for the system with servovalve actuation, with the objective to compare the efficiency of those systems. A model considering internal leakage and another without considering them. The obtained results  show a considerable increase in energy efficiency of the digital system, mainly due to the absence of resistive control through orifices and internal leakage.
