Physical Area:

Total area of 450 m2 in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at UFSC, including offices for academics, researchers, and students. 280 m2 are reserved to laboratories of pneumatics, hydraulics, and instrumentation.

Equipment:

  • Components for pneumatic automation and control: PLC’s, servo-valves and proportional valves, cylinders, directional valves, sensors, etc.
  • Hydraulic power and conditioning unit (controlled by computer) designed for experimental research on hydraulic systems and components.
  • Proportional hydraulics and servo-hydraulics components: valves and servo-valves, cylinders, etc.
  • Test bench for pneumatic components and systems under loading conditions up to 12,000 N.
  • Data acquisition systems: dSPACE, LABVIEW, AQX System.
  • Didactic workbenches in pneumatics, eletro-pneumatics, automation with PLC’s, hydraulics and servo-hydraulics.
  • Several measurement systems for pressure, force, displacement, torque, and flow rate.
  • Test rig for servo-valve and proportional valve testing and for hydraulic position control systems.
  • Several computers and peripherals for data processing, automation and control.
  • Software for dynamic analysis and simulation, computer aided design (CAD) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
  • Physical and digital library with more than 1000 publications including books, technical standards, journals, technical magazines, etc.
