Abstract: The design activities for the mechatronic systems happen in different technological domains. The many specialists’ involvement can happen depending on the complexity of the system, each one capable to solve technical aspects in your knowledge area. However, we understand that the integration of all these specialists is possible through an appropriate methodology for mechatronic systems that contemplates the process of technical systems design and software development as much as possible. In this context, this work presents the building of an application for a system of design and control of hydraulic positioning systems. For this, this software accomplishes the control of position of electro-hydraulic systems and also to implement a systematized diagram of procedures for the sizing and the analysis static and dynamic of hydraulic circuits. Because this application is included in an equipment that is characterized by being a mechatronic system, in this work is used an appropriate methodology for mechatronic systems with the intention of reaching the functions which the application to be developed should contemplate. Later, the implementation of these functions is accomplished following software engineering aspects. Like this, we can prove that this modelling methodology – which integrates graphic description techniques for mechatronic systems and tries to be neutral for possible implementations – is shown as an efficient tool in mechatronic systems design.
