On September 26th, the Master student Eng. João Pedro D. da Silva presented the paper “Static and dynamic performance analysis of an electro-hydraulic system for ultra-deep water at the Rio Oil & Gas Congress, in Rio de Janeiro. The paper was written together with M. Eng. Rafael M. Goularte (LASHIP), Prof. Dr. Victor J. De Negri (LASHIP) and Dr. Eng. Alexandre Orth (Bosch Rexroth AG).

The work is the result of the master’s thesis of Rafael Goulart and presents an analysis through simulation of the operational capacity of an EHA (electro hydrostatic actuator) developed for application in ultra-deep water, being the main objective to apply it to a new concept of subsea control systems, which aims to combine the best characteristics of the electromechanical and electrohydraulic systems currently used in the sector. The results and conclusions obtained on the mathematical model were presented and also commented about the next stage of this project, which will be the experimental validation of the proposed system.
