Abstract: This research concerns the systematization of the procedures for the sizing and the analysis of the applicability of hydraulic components in previously conceived circuits. The designer’s actions and the knowledge basis for carrying out the preliminary design of the hydraulic circuits are formally established The method proposed is based on real case studies and involves the static and dynamic analysis of the hydraulic circuits behavior. It aims at showing a line of reasoning which includes the specific points of a preliminary design such as modeling, catalog data acquisition, simulation and analysis of the results. In order to allow for the correct transference of catalog data of the hydraulic components and assessment of real behaviors in static and dynamic conditions, it is proposed a correct identification mode of the significant terms for the model and how to convert them into parameters. In this context, a control hydraulic system of Kaplan turbine blades position composed of pressure proportional valve, distributor valve and cylinder is analyzed, inserted in a two PI feedback control system. As actual information, it is possible to have the pressure measurement, fluid temperatures, displacements and velocities.
