The first two editions occurred in S\u00e3o Paulo, at the Brazilian Association of Machinery and Equipment (ABIMAQ) headquarters. This year the WIEFP will occur in Florian\u00f3polis, at the Campus of the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of this workshop is to bring together industry and academia, interested in this evolving multidisciplinary field of fluid power, driver, actuation, and control systems present in almost all industrial and commercial sectors. The fluid power technology is strongly coupled to other systems such as engines, mechanical structures and control systems. It is also an area of focus for energy efficiency, with new system concepts and other technologies making their entry into that market.<\/p>\n<p>The WIEFP has been an opportunity to discuss with distinguished researchers, professors, managers and engineers working on fluid power components and systems as well as with experts from motivating application fields. In the 2016 edition, besides the presentations from invited speakers from industry and academy, the workshop will have selected presentations from the FPNI2016.<\/p>\n<p>The FPNI2016 &#8211; 9<sup>th<\/sup> FPNI Ph.D. Symposium on Fluid Power is a well stablished international conference occurring from October 26 to 28 in Florian\u00f3polis. On October 26 both WIEFP2016 and FPNI2016 will be jointed at UFSC. Therefore, the WIEFP2016 participants will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with professors and researchers from the most prominent research institutes around the world. For those intend to attend the all days of FPNI2016, please register to both conferences through <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laship.ufsc.br\/fpni2016\">www.laship.ufsc.br\/fpni2016<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Organization<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>The WIEFP2016 is organized by Federal University Santa Catarina (UFSC), Link\u00f6ping University (LiU), Federal University of ABC (UFABC), Swedish-Brazilian Research and Innovation Centre (CISB), and Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Industrial Automation Equipment Sectorial Chamber (CSHPA\/ABIMAQ).
