Abstract: This work presents the theoretical and experimental study focused on the redesign of a hydraulic driller. This product already exists and it is provided by Dalla Lana Medal Metallurgical Ltda. Its use is focused in the field, attached to the tractor hydraulic units. This hydraulic component is composed mainly of a hydraulic motor and a speed control system, that its the main object of study of this work. Based on methods of design methodology PRODIP, developed by NEDIP – UFSC, are studied the possible conceptions of the hydraulic circuit and features for the construction of valves that can attend the design specifications raised. Selected the concepts of solutions, are performed simulations based on mathematical models developed on the software AMESim (Advanced Mo-deling Environment for performing Simulations), in which the models are powered by the experimental data obtained by tests performed on the test bench with the existing hydraulic driller. Thus, the results obtained for each design solution are compared, and then has the choice of design solution that best fits the design specifications. With the choice of design, takes place a improve of this solution with the use of sensitivity analysis, in which geometric parameters are modified and analyzed based on criteria obtained from the design specifications. This analysis is performed using software AMESim, as well as the ANSYS-CFX and SolidWorks. The softwares are used in the development of prototype project of the solution adopted, in the study of the internal flow valve and in the design of the manufactured prototype. Therefore, the theoretical results are compared with the experimental results of the prototype based on the design selected, in which one is perceptible a reduction in energy consumption compared to the original model. As also noted a considerable reduction in the flow forces that act directly on the spool, facilitating the use of hydraulic driller, which is similar with the simulated results.
